Retrospective

I'm using January as a month to look back over last years work, and with that comes a real feeling of achievement. A lot happened towards the end of 2009 and I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been dropping by the blog and website, also to all of my clients form 2009. Its been a tough old year all round with redundancy's and new beginnings for many. I'm one of the privileged few that can say with no uncertainty that I'm doing what I want to be doing and enjoying every moment. So with that in mind what is my plan for 2010? Easy! 2010 is the year of competitions, publications and lots of other 'tions.
Starting the year off was an underwear shoot at the Malmaison Edinburgh for 'The Echo.' Then on to prepping for the first production meeting this month for POSED's 3rd edition. At the end of January is shooting for SAKS hairdressers Glasgow for competition entry portraits. January also sees the release of an advertising campaign shot at the end of last year for Colours Agency Glasgow. More on that soon.

2010 also sees the Launch of a new project of mine called 'The 50pence Portrait.' The website is on its way so I hope to see you all there soon!

One from the Archives

I seem to be sitting on lots of images from the end of last year. Most are shoots done for advertising or magazines but a few were just for fun, So I thought Id have a flick through what I have and post one from Holly's shoot last year. I love shooting with Holly she cuts some fantastic shapes and is a hoot along with it.
Here is two other posts of Holly: link1 link2 She featured in Sep 09s photo of the month.
This image was taken on the streets of Edinburgh. They were shot with one speedlite and an shoot through umbrella. I'm a huge fan of simple lighting at the moment. If i can do it with one that that's what I'll do. It is of course a phase I'm sure and ill be back to 57 lights before the end of the year. But for now simple is really doing it for me.

Picture Of the Month November 2009

I thought I'd just stick with the back catalogue theme from last month. This image was shot as part of the Joseph McGee Collection in the early part of the year.

One Light!

Before

After

Everyone loves a before and after shot. This is a shoot in the urban surround of Glasgow. We headed out with 3 outfits, a model Mhairi an make up artist Lynsey C Reilly, me, a camera and one speed light. The shoot was really to let me play with some new retouching tech and play around a little with one flash light source.
